1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or playing TETRITYPE! (the “Game”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”) and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Game. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Tessara (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account or use the Game. By using the Game you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. Users under 18 should have parental or guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to terminate accounts, refuse service, or remove or edit content at our sole discretion. Accounts are personal and non-transferable.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Game for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Game or its related systems;
- Exploit, distribute, or publicly disclose any software bug or vulnerability;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Game;
- Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to interact with the Game in an unauthorized manner;
- Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits any other user’s use or enjoyment of the Game;
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
5. Intellectual Property
All content included in or made available through the Game — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, game mechanics, audio, artwork, and software code — is the exclusive property of Tessara and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and play the Game solely for personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes. No rights are transferred to you by virtue of your use of the Game.
6. Privacy & Data Collection
TETRITYPE! stores all account data, scores, and preferences exclusively in your browser’s local storage on your own device. We do not operate servers that collect, transmit, or store your personal data remotely. Specifically:
- Account data (username, email, hashed password, avatar) is stored locally in your browser only;
- Game scores and progress are stored locally and are not transmitted to third parties;
- No cookies are used for tracking or advertising purposes;
- No analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics) are embedded in the Game;
- Passwords are stored as a one-way hash and are never stored or transmitted in plain text.
Because all data resides on your own device, you retain full control. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time through the in-game profile settings. Clearing your browser’s local storage will also permanently erase all game data.
7. Account Deletion
You may permanently delete your account at any time by navigating to your Profile and selecting Delete Account in the Danger Zone section. Deletion will immediately and irreversibly erase your profile, credentials, scores, and friend data from the local device. This action cannot be undone.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE GAME IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. TESSARA DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE GAME WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. YOUR USE OF THE GAME IS SOLELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TESSARA, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL — ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE GAME, EVEN IF TESSARA HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TESSARA’S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50.00).
10. Modifications to the Game and Terms
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Game (or any part thereof) at any time without notice. We also reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Game following the posting of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Tessara operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in that jurisdiction for resolution of any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Game.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
13. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Tessara with respect to the Game and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings of the parties relating to the subject matter hereof.
